Class of 2014

Indiana’s 2014 class is headlined by a couple of the top prospects in the nation, Trey Lyles and Jaquan Lyle. Rivals has Lyles at #5 and Lyle at #16, also, Trevon Bluiett comes in at #46 and James Blackmon Jr. at #47.

1.  Trey Lyles:  6’10” Power Forward, Arsenal Tech H.S.

Offers:  Duke, Butler, Kentucky, Georgetown, Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Stanford

Interest:  UCLA

Trey can do it all.  He is very versatile for a big guy, great all-around offensive skills. He is a good outside shooter and can also score down low with a variety of post moves.  Works hard on the the boards, his athleticism and long reach allow him to get all the rebounds in his area.  Trey runs the court very well, has the ability to grab a rebound and take the ball coast to coast.  He made huge news by de-commiting from Indiana and is now one of the most sought after prospects in the country.

2.  Jaquan Lyle:  6’4” Point Guard, Evansville Bosse H.S.

Offers:  Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Xavier, Michigan State , Ohio State, Louisville, Kansas State, Providence, Southern Methodist, Georgetown, Texas, North Carolina State, Iowa, Wake Forest, Oklahoma State, Miami (FL)

Interest:  Georgetown, UCLA, West Virginia, Marquette, UCLA, Butler, Oregon, Oregon State, Virginia, Oklahoma

Has great size for a guard.  Jaquan is a very good ball handler and passer who can penetrate defenses with ease. His court vision is second to none the 2014 class.  Also, Jaquan has really been improving his perimeter shooting ability; he has knocked in a few buzzer beaters already this year.  With his size, passing, and scoring ability he is a double-double or triple-double waiting to happen.  He is right there with Trey battling for that #1 spot.

3.  James Blackmon Jr.:  6’2” Shooting Guard, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers H.S.

Committed:  Indiana University

Pure scorer.  He is a good ball handler which allows him to create shots for himself.  Very good perimeter shooter, also has a nice mid-range game.  James missed most of his sophomore season and all of the AAU circuit this summer while recovery from a knee injury, but has picked up right where he left off, already turning in a 40 point performance.  His shot is nearly perfect; really fun player to watch on offense.

4.  Trevon Bluiett:  6’5” Small Forward, Park Tudor H.S.

Offers:  Indiana, Virginia, Purdue, Xavier, IUPUI, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Illinois, Florida, Louisville, Michigan, Cincinnati, Iowa

Interest: Ohio State, Michigan State

He is a good ball handler and is great at shooting off the dribble.  Good outside shooter as well.  Trevon has good size and strength, can play the 2-4 spots right now, probably projects best as a Small Forward.  I like his size, but he isn’t the greatest athlete which can hurt him on the defensive end especially; however he has improved his athleticism a lot.  An all-around winner, has 2 state championships to his name already.

5.  Sam Logwood:  6’6” Small Forward, La Lumiere School

Offers:  Miami (OH), Radford, IUPUI, Buffalo, New Orleans, IUPUI, Indiana State, Auburn, Bradley

Interest:  Purdue, Xavier, Dayton, Creighton, UNC-Greensburo, Detroit, Indiana, Michigan State

Sam had a great summer and showed why he may become a Top 100 player at some point before graduation.  He is super strong and athletic which lets him score inside and rebound.  Sam also is a pretty good perimeter shooter.  He is at his best when able to get out and run in transition; he handles the ball very well and explodes to the rim.  I love his all-around offensive game.  Tremendous upside.

6.  Tyler Wideman:  6’7” Power Forward, Lake Central H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Indiana State, Ball State, IUPUI, Xavier

Wideman is simply a beast, he is built like a truck.  However, don’t let his size fool you, he has very good hands and footwork in the post.  He runs the floor pretty well and is a good rebounder on both ends of the court.  Tyler has lost a little weight recently which should help his over all quickness, especially helping him on the defensive end.

7.  Bryant McIntosh:  6’3” Point Guard, Greensburg H.S.

Committed:  Indiana State University

Great mid-range shooter and can also create for himself going to the rim with a nice array of moves. Bryant is a good decision maker, makes some nice passes and finds open teammates.   He has a floater that he likes to use when attacking the basket off the dribble that seems to go in every time.  Sneaky athletic and quick too.  Good length which allows him to disrupt some passes on the defensive end.  Still want to see him become a more consistent 3-point shooter, but he continues to improve that facet of his game.

8.  Mack Mercer:  6’8” Power Forward, Plymouth H.S.

Offers:  Indiana State, Ball State, Kent State, Vermont, Rice, Boston College

Interest:  Notre Dame, Butler, Harvard, Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Miami Ohio, IUPUI, Illinois State, Xavier, Valparaiso

Has a nice variety of offensive skills, he can score down low and can shoot the 3-pointer well.  Mack has very good post moves including a quick spin move to the baseline and a really nice baby hook on his left side.  He is really good in pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop situations.  For a big man he has great skills.  Only negative that I see is that he isn’t the quickest guy, some of his post moves take a little bit to develop.  Mack continues to move up the rankings, and he may not be done yet.

9.  Sean Sellers:  6’6” Small Forward, Greensburg H.S.

Offers:  IUPUI

Interest:  Harvard, Eastern Kentucky, Belmont, Wright State, William & Mary, Valparaiso, Stanford, Ball State, Morehead State, Michigan, Butler, Dayton, Indiana State, Evansville, Xavier, Wichita State

Very good all-around offensive player.  Good size for a wing player and is one of the best shooters in the state. Rebounds pretty well, but will need to pack on some muscle to get better in that aspect of his game.  Sean is just an all-around scorer on the offensive end.  I have been impressed with the way he has handled the ball recently, got to the rim off the dribble quite a bit.  He is also a capable defender.

10.  Aaron Brennan:  6’6” Power Forward, Guerin Catholic H.S.

Offers:  IUPUI, Indiana State, UNC-Greensburo, Toledo, Loyola (IL)

Interest:  Michigan, Purdue, Indiana, Xavier, Butler, Iowa, Notre Dame, Creighton, Ball State

Brennan is a very good all-around scorer, he can score around the basket and has the ability to step outside and knock down a 3-pointer.  Aaron has become pretty strong which has made him a great rebounder and very tough to stop on the block.  He still moves well and has great footwork inside, so he is a very tough matchup.  Not sure if he is going to grow much more, but I really like his build right now.  He has the skills to transition to the “3″ spot if he doesn’t grow any more.

11.  P.J. Thompson:  5’9” Point Guard, Brebeuf Jesuit H.S.

Offers:  IUPUI, Indiana State, Ball State, Toledo, Miami (OH), Dartmouth, Wisconsin-Green Bay

Interest:  Missouri State, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Wichita State, Iowa, DePaul, Minnesota, Butler

Great point guard who seems to always make the right decision, plays with a very high basketball IQ.  Good quickness with the ball in his hands which allows him to penetrate the defense, he likes to kick to the perimeter when he gets inside. Very good outside shooter.  P.J. can simply fill it up on the offensive end.  Forget about the fact that he is 5’9”, P.J. can absolutely help any mid-major program in the country.

12.  Perry Poindexter:  6’7” Power Forward, North Central H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Purdue, Xavier, Michigan, Illinois

Length is probably the most over-used term in basketball recruiting these days, but Poindexter has it, measuring out to a 7’2” wingspan.  He has good athleticism which allows him to be effective on the glass and blocking shots. Perry had a great summer and should see his recruitment pick back up very quickly.  He has greatly improved his rebounding ability and is being much more aggressive on the offensive end.  He has shown a very nice turn around jumper that he uses in the post.

13.  Ernie Duncan:  6’2” Point Guard, Evansville Harrison H.S.

De-Committed:  University of Evansville

Offers:

Interest:  New Mexico, Indiana, Kansas State, Illinois, Indiana State, Xavier, Western Michigan, DePaul, Bowling Green

Physical guard who handles the ball very well and is a good floor general.  Ernie shoots the ball very well from deep as well. He stays poised when handling the ball and does a good job when facing defenders with more strength and athleticism than he has.  Ernie is a sneaky quick player who does a very good job of penetrating.  His shooting ability is underrated in my opinion, he can be a very good offensive player, but has taken on more of a distributors role this season.

14.  Grant Evans:  6’3” Shooting Guard, Wapahani H.S.

Committed:  Wright State University

One of the best, if not the best, pure shooter in the Class of 2014.  Evans looks good driving to the basket as well, he is adept at drawing fouls and getting to the line.  Needs to improve his strength some more still.  Grant moves well off the ball and works hard to get open.  He has really improved his ball handling which has added an extra dimension to his game.

15.  Justin King:  6’5” Small Forward, Bowman Academy

Offers:  Northern Illinois

Interest:  Marquette, Purdue, Indiana, Michigan State, Ball State, Valparaiso, IUPUI

Very athletic, runs the court well and finds ways to score.  King isn’t the greatest shooter, but he can hit some mid-range shots and gets some “garbage” points as well.  Rebounds the basketball well and does a nice job of securing the ball, then looking to make the outlet pass.  With Bowman graduating 3 Division I prospects last season, look for Justin to take advantage of being “the guy” this year.

16.  Zach McRoberts:  6’6” Power Forward, Carmel H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Butler

I really like how active he is on the court.  Zach attacks the glass for rebounds on both ends of the court and is a good shot-blocker on the defensive end.  He shot the ball very well this summer, has become a very good 3-point shooter.  With that sort of inside/outside game, Zach can be very tough to stop, especially if he gets stronger.

17.  Mike Davis:  6’5” Small Forward, Fort Wayne North H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  DePaul, Western Michigan, Oakland, IPFW, Drake, Akron

Mike is an absolute load inside.  He is about 210-215 pounds, a very strong kid but still a good athlete.  He rebounds the ball very well and can score on the interior.  Also, Mike has the ability to step outside an knock down an open three.  Since transferring in from Michigan, his name is still circulating around the state, low and mid-majors really need to check him out.

18.  Johnathon Wilkins:  6’10” Center, La Lumiere School

Offers:  Bradley

Interest:  Dayton, Virginia, Wake Forest, Xavier, Miami (FL.), Missouri

Probably the best true “5″ prospect in the state, Wilkins is very raw offensively still and must get a lot stronger.  At this point he is mostly a rebounder and defender, but he does a pretty good job with those two things.  His size makes him a prospect to keep an eye on as he develops.

19.  Jeremie Tyler:  6’1” Point Guard, Arsenal Tech H.S.

Offers:  Vermont, New Orleans, Miami (OH), IUPUI

Interest:  Xavier, Purdue, Butler, IPFW

Great quickness and a very solid ball handler.  Jeremie is a very good outside shooter as well. Nice length and is good on the defensive end.  Explosive leaping ability which allows him to finish at the rim and also get a lot of rebounds for his size.  Jeremie’s recruitment really blew up towards the end up the summer.  When able to get out and run his game really shines; his athleticism is unreal.

20.  Jordan Garnett:  6’6” Small Forward, Warren Central H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Purdue, Iowa, Butler, Ball State, Indiana State, Wright State, Bowling Green, Dayton, Xavier, Loyola, IPFW, IUPUI, Mercer, Clemson, Furman, Presbyterian, College of Charleston, South Dakota State, Western Illinois, Western Kentucky, UNC Charlotte

Jordan is a strong, athletic kid who runs the floor very well and is a great rebounder.  This summer he turned some heads with the way he attacked the glass as well as with his ability to handle the ball and score on the interior.  Along with his skills inside, Jordan is also a very good perimeter and mid-range shooter.  This gives him the ability to stretch the defense and hurt you in a variety of ways.  He has been playing very well to start the season and is quickly moving up our rankings.  Hard worker and a good kid.

21.  Lamous Brown:  6’9” Center, Hammond Bishop Noll

Offers:

Interest:

After transferring to Noll from a school in Illinois, Lamous has been ruled ineligible to play this season.  His game is pretty raw still, but he does rebound the ball pretty well and is a good athlete for his size.  I think his offensive game is a little more polished than Wilkins, but not by much.  He has a decent little lefty baby hook that he uses and has a pretty soft touch at the rim.  If he can expand his offensive game and continue to rebound the ball he could be a good mid-major post prospect.

22.  Troy Spears:  6’4” Shooting Guard, Martinsville H.S.

De-Committed:  University of New Mexico

Offers:

Interest:  Butler, Evansville, Xavier

Very good all-around offensive player.  Shoots the ball well, moves well without the ball, and is a good catch-and-shoot guy.  Troy has good size but isn’t necessarily a great athlete.  He is a good rebounder on both ends of the court from the guard spot, works very hard on the glass.

23.  Jaraan Lands:  6’5” Small Forward, Warren Central H.S.

Offers:  IUPUI

Interest:

Lands is a thick wing player with good size and strength.  He has a variety of offensive skills that include taking the ball to the basket and shooting pretty well from the perimeter.  He likes to attack the rim off the dribble and is effective finishing through contact.  Hard worker.  Jaraan is not a great athlete, but his strength allows him to be very effective on the court.

24.  Mike Jones:  6’5” Shooting Guard, Arsenal Tech H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Xavier, Purdue, IUPUI, Butler, Indiana State, IPFW, Miami OH

Jones has good length and is a nice athlete.  Looks good going to the basket off the dribble.  He is a very good perimeter shooter, but has a slow release.  Mikey played well this summer and showed that is an all-around pure scorer; he does force the action a little bit, but most of the time I like his aggressiveness.  Good upside.

25.  Tyler Jenkins:  6’2” Shooting Guard, Hamilton Southeastern H.S.

Offers:  St. Joseph’s (PA)

Interest:  Wake Forest, Davidson, Pennsylvania, Yale, Virginia, Columbia, Northwestern, Ball State, Georgia State, Cornell, Dartmouth

Jenkins is a very good athlete with some explosiveness when attacking the rim off the dribble.  He is a good scorer with a nice pull-up jumper from mid range.  I would like to see him become a more consistent outside shooter and work on his shot selection, I saw him force some things at times this summer.  Overall, he is a spark plug type of player who can really fill it up.

26.  Elliot Welmer:  6’7” Small Forward, Columbus North H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  IPFW, Eastern Kentucky

Elliot is relatively unknown, but is getting big minutes and scoring some points this winter for North.  He had a good summer and should land his name on the radar of some schools.  Has good perimeter skills for a guy of his size, handles the ball well.  I think that Elliot will still grow another inch or two and his game is just starting to come into its own.  He shoots the ball well from the perimeter and blocks shots defensively.  I am sure I have him higher than most people, but I think he will end up moving up even more within the next year.  Keep an eye out for him.

27.  Rashaun Richardson:  6’7” Power Forward, Arsenal Tech H.S.

Offers:  Miami (OH), Toledo

Interest:  Ball State, Indiana State, IUPUI, Western Illinois, Xavier, UCLA, Detroit

Rashaun really burst onto the scene this past summer.  He is a great athlete for his size and is very long.  He handles the ball pretty well and can shoot the ball from the perimeter.  Rashaun is going to need to get stronger so that he is more effective on the interior, but I do love his upside.  Right now he is raw and mostly just relies on his athletic ability and length to make things happen, but as his skills develop he could move up the rankings.

28.  Grant Sims:  6’2” Point Guard, Bloomington North H.S.

Offers:  Miami (OH), Portland, Kennesaw State

Interest:  Xavier, Butler, Indiana State, Valparaiso, Toledo, Eastern Kentucky, DePaul

Grant is a great athlete with explosive jumping ability.  He is very good at attacking the rim off the dribble, an aggressive offensive player.  He also shoots the ball well from the perimeter.  Grant can play either the point or off the ball at the next level in my opinion.

29.  Tye Wilburn:  5’10” Point Guard, Lake Central H.S.

Offers:  IPFW

Interest:  Ball State, Northwestern, Vaplarasio, Indiana State, DePaul, Central Michigan, Detroit

Tye is an extremely quick point guard who can break a defense down off the dribble.  He is pretty strong for his size, making up for what he lacks in height.  His perimeter shot has been improving.  Great passer.

30.  Xavier Ringo:  5’9” Point Guard, Brownsburg H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Western Kentucky, DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, Wright State, Oakland, Ohio, IPFW, Ball State

Athletic, quick point guard who can really handle the ball.  He is a very strong kid and finishes through contact at the rim.  Xavier does a great job of penetrating the defense, very aggressive with the ball in his hands.

31.  Daeshon Francis:  6’2” Shooting Guard, Lawrence North H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Indiana State, Butler, Bucknell, Mercer, Wright State, Notre Dame, Western Illinois, Loyola, Ohio

Nice athlete who shoots the ball pretty well from the perimeter.  Very good on-ball defender with active hands.  He handles the ball well and can take the role of a distributor when needed.  Daeshon is at his best in an up-tempo style where he can use his athleticism to attack the rim and beat people down the court.  I have seen him take off and put down some poster worthy dunks over guys too.  Fun player to watch.

32.  Aaron Korn:  6’4” Shooting Guard, Frankton H.S.

Offers:  Miami (OH), Rollins (DII), Hillsdale (DII), St. Francis (NAIA), Indiana Wesleyan (NAIA)

Interest:  IPFW, Iowa, Indiana State, Valparaiso, Ball State, Wright State, Mercer, Wisconsin, Stetson, William & Mary

I really enjoy watching Aaron play.  He has great body control around the rim and does a good job of penetrating off the dribble.  Aaron shoots it well from the perimeter too.  He seems to just have a knack for scoring the ball.  Also he is a very good rebounder for his size.  He is a very underrated athlete, Aaron can jump out of the gym.

33.  Keaton Hendricks:  6’5” Small Forward, Bloomington South H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Ball State, IUPUI, IPFW, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana Wesleyan (NAIA)

Very good shooting stroke, can score from the perimeter or attack the basket.  Also can rebound the basketball.  Keaton won’t wow you with his athleticism, but he just a solid, smart player who understands how to play the game.  Good all-around offensive player.  He has a college ready body and understands how to score; advanced mid-range game.

34.  Saikou Jallow:  6’3” Point Guard, Bloomington North H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Indiana State, Toledo, Valparaiso, Miami OH, Arizona State, Virginia, IUPUI

Good athlete who is very poised when running the fast break.  Saikou is a pretty good shooter, but needs to keep working on his perimeter game.  I like the way he can penetrate a defense.  All-around good ball handler and decision maker.  Saikou has good size for point guard too.  I really like his game.

35.  Bradley Fisher:  6’10” Center, Culver Military Academy

Offers:

Interest:

He obviously has great size, and he is also a strong kid.  He rebounds the ball well on both ends of the court.  Bradley has pretty good footwork in the post and an effective baby hook he likes to go too.  However, he is pretty slow which hurts him on the defensive end especially.  Still, at 6’10,” he should get quite a bit of low-major interest.

36.  Jacob Johnson:  6’6” Small Forward, Mooresville H.S.

Offers:  Northern Colorado

Interest:  Purdue, Xavier, Evansville, Indiana State, Valparaiso, Dayton, Butler, Nebraska, Loyola, Dartmouth

Jacob is a great athlete and can jump out of the gym.  He is good at getting to the rim off the dribble from the wing or baseline.  He can hit an open 3-point shot too.  Really needs to work on handling the ball with his right hand.

37.  Jacob Foster:  6’7” Power Forward, Wapahani H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Loyola, IUPUI, Indiana State, Belmont, Miami OH, Ball State, Fordham, Columbia, Dartmouth

He is a long, athletic big man with pretty good skill.  Foster is a good rebounder and does a very good job of blocking shots as well.  He has really impressed me of late, showing a lot more aggressiveness and confidence on the court.  Jacob can take over a game in the post now.  I really like his athleticism for a post player.  Good upside.

38.  Justin Brent:  6’4” Shooting Guard, Speedway H.S.

Committed:  University of Notre Dame (Football)

As good as Brent is at basketball, he is an even better football prospect.  He is a standout wide receiver for the Speedway Sparkplugs.  He is an excellent athlete and has good size for a guard.  Handles the ball pretty well, actually plays the point for his high school team.  Pretty good shooter as well.

39.  Bryce Lienhoop:  6’6” Small Forward, Columbus East H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Xavier, Butler, Toledo

An under-the-radar prospect with a very good skill set.  Bryce shoots the ball well from the perimeter and can also score on the inside.  Rebounds pretty well too.  I was impressed with his all-around scoring ability this summer, he scores the ball in a variety of ways.  Long, athletic kid.

40.  Kendall Rollins:  6’6” Small Forward, Pike H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Wright State Detroit, Tulane, IUPUI, IPFW, Indiana State, Depaul, Xavier, Miami (OH), Mercer, Western Illinois

Good size and is a great athlete with length.  Kendall has really improved a lot recently.  He is much more aggressive offensively and is rebounding the ball pretty well.  Good ball handling skills for his size.  Great shot blocker.  Should continue to get better, and as he does, he should move up the rankings.

41.  Nate Richie:  6’6” Small Forward, Northridge H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Ball State, Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Wright State, Indiana State, Dartmouth

Good athlete with length.  Nate is a versatile offensive player, he shoots the ball pretty well and can score inside.  Good offensive rebounder.  He can guard multiple positions on the defensive end when he puts his mind to it.  Nate needs to work on his ball handling ability because he is athletic enough to very tough to stop going to the basket.  I like his upside.

42.  Arthur Haggard:  6’4”  Shooting Guard, Bowman Academy

Offers:

Interest:

I really like Arthur.  He is a great athlete and a very good defender; his length really gives people fits on that end of the court.  He also is a very good perimeter shooter and can handle the ball pretty well.  Flying a little under-the-radar, but he is a very good Division II prospect, and maybe even a low-major DI.

43.  D.J. McCall:  6’5” Shooting Guard, Fort Wayne Concordia H.S.

Offers:  Chicago State

Interest:

He is a great athlete and super long.  D.J. handles the ball very well for his size and has the ability to penetrate the defense and explode to the rim.  Recently he has really been improving his jump shot which adds another dimension to his offensive game, but I would like to see him keep working on that aspect of his game.  I really, really like his upside.

44.  Tyler Arens:  6’8” Power Forward, Muncie Central H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Tyler is a very good athlete and has good footwork around the basket.  He can step away from the basket and shoot the ball well from the perimeter.  Handles the ball pretty well too.  Tyler needs to become much more physical down low, right now he does not take contact very well.  Still, the skills are there for him to become a high level prospect.

45.  C.J. Coleman:  6’3” Point Guard, Mt. Vernon Fortville H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Western Michigan, Stetson, Loyola, Lamar, Southern Illinois

C.J. is a good all-around guard.  He can score in a variety of ways, either taking the ball to the basket or showcasing a good perimeter stroke.  I really enjoy watching him play.  Good defensively.  C.J. has very good length and good size for a ball handler.  A score first guard.

46.  Bret Barclay:  6’6” Small Forward, Crown Point H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  New Hampshire, Loyola, Eastern Kentucky

Bret is a good athlete and handles the ball pretty well for his size.  He runs the floor very well and is active around the rim on both ends of the court.  He has a pretty good looking perimeter shot, but will need to improve his consistency from outside.  I like his upside.

47.  Keenan Simmons:  6’6” Power Forward, Michigan City H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

He has big time upside.  I love his length and athleticism, but he is not as physically strong as he will need to be to play the “4.”  He has a soft touch around the rim.  Keenan has put up solid numbers for 2 years now at Michigan City, all while being a year ahead in school.  He is a very, very high academic kid.  If he can grow a couple of inches and expand his offensive game he will shoot onto the radar screen of a lot of DI schools.

48.  Nick King:  6’6” Small Forward, Franklin H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Eastern Kentucky, Lehigh, Toledo

Nick has a very good perimeter shot for his size, really strokes it from the perimeter.  He also is a solid athlete.  Rebounds the ball well, good inside/outside threat.  Nick is built a little thicker than his AAU teammate Bryce, but they have pretty similar skill sets.

49.  Taylor Persons:  6’0” Point Guard, Kokomo H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Indiana State, Loyola, Georgia State, IUPUI, IPFW, Lehigh, Western Illinois

Taylor is built like a fullback, a hard nosed guard that just gets the job done.  I really enjoy watching him play.  Very strong and finishes through contact when attacking the basket.  Not sure if he will get much taller, but his leadership, hard work, and offensive skills will allow him to be effective at the next level.

50.  Perry Fairrow:  6’1” Shooting Guard, Evansville Bosse H.S.

Offers:  IPFW

Interest:

Perry has all of the talent in the world, but needs to put forth the effort at all times to let it shine through.  He is a great offensive player who can really fill it up in a variety of ways.  He shoots the ball well from the perimeter and uses his athleticism to attack the rim.  Perry will get plenty of attention from colleges while playing alongside Jaquan Lyle, and if he keeps playing the way he has recently he should see his interest really pick up.

51.  Arnold Wilson:  6’1” Point Guard, Gary West H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

A very long, athletic guard that penetrates the defense well off the dribble.  Arnold does a good job of drawing contact and getting to the foul line when he attacks the basket.  He will need to improve his perimeter shooting ability, but he is really good when going to the rim.

52.  Terrell Davis:  6’5” Small Forward, Lawrence North H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

He had a great AAU circuit that should have put him on the radar screen of some college coaches.  Terrell is at his best when playing in a wide-open, up-tempo style where he can just let his athleticism show through.  He is a very good rebounder for his size and handles the ball pretty well.  I would like to see him work on his perimeter shooting, but I really like his ability to take the ball to the rim in transition.

53.  Ja’re Glover:  6’4” Shooting Guard, Gary West H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Ja’re has good size and can really fill it up from the perimeter.  He moves very well off the ball, works really hard to get open.  He can put the ball on the floor and attacking the rim a little bit too, but is at his best when launching 3′s from beyond the arc.

54.  Michael Bush:  5’7” Point Guard, South Bend Adam H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

I really, really like Michael’s game.  He is an ultra-quick point guard who can penetrate the defense with ease.  He is great when running the fast break.  Michael handles the ball very well and is a great passer once he gets inside of the defense.  Can also knock down a 3-pointer.  Michael’s main draw back is his size obviously, but don’t let it worry you too much, he can really play.

55.  Collin Barthel:  6’6” Small Forward, Cathedral H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Evansville, Indiana State

Solid player with good fundamentals.  Collin has very good hands and rebounds the ball well.  Has a good mid-range game, also can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim from the high post.  Another one of the talented 6’6” wing players in this class.

56.  Whit Rapp:  6’2” Point Guard, Guerin Catholic H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Belmont, Leigh, Creighton

Whit is a very solid all-around point guard.  He is a great ball handler, very good passer, stays under control when running the fast break and is just a good decision maker.  Plays with a very high basketball IQ.  Led Guerin to a state championship this past season and had a very impressive assist to turnover ratio.  Really fun to watch.

57.  Trevion Crews:  5’10” Point Guard, Fort Wayne North H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

An ultra-quick point guard who can penetrate the defense with ease.  Crews is also a good 3-point shooter.  Probably doesn’t have the size to play at the Division I level, but if he keeps improving I could see him fitting in well at an up-tempo NAIA or DII school.

58.  Seth Cox:  6’10” Center, New Palestine H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

In a class with a handful true “5′s”, Seth is another player that coaches need to take a look at.  He obviously has the necessary size, but he also is fairly skilled.  Seth has pretty good hands and can finish well around the rim.  He runs the floor well and does a pretty good job of rebounding the basketball on both ends of the court.  I was very impressed with him this fall; looks like he has been improving a lot.  Definitely keep an eye on his development.

59.  Lucas Huffman:  6’5” Shooting Guard, Franklin Central H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Harvard

Lucas has very good size for a “2″ guard.  He is a great perimeter shooter; he can hit you with 4 or 5 3′s in a game with ease.  Even though he is pretty thin, he also does a good job of grabbing rebounds down low.  I would like to see him add more to his game off the dribble, but as a pure shooter he is one of the best in the class.

60.  Austin Shelton:  5’11” Point Guard, Park Tudor H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Shelton transferred to Park Tudor after spending two years at Avon.  He is a scoring point guard who can shoot the 3 and finds ways to get to the rim.  He obviously is no Yogi Ferrell, but his scoring ability will allow him to fill in nicely at the point guard spot, alongside 2015 Bryce Moore, at Park Tudor.

61.  Grant Sinn:  6’1” Shooting Guard, Fort Wayne Canterbury H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Morehead State, Notre Dame, Drake, Jacksonville, Boston, Eastern Carolina, Quincy (DII), Northwood (DII)

Very good perimeter shooter.  Also very unselfish and is a good passer when he attacks the basket.  Grant has a little bit different looking shot, but his release has really been improving recently.  The main thing is, Grant can flat out stroke it, he seems to go for 4 or 5 3′s each time he steps on the court.

62.  Evan Henry:  6’2” Shooting Guard, Columbus North H.S.

Offers:  Indiana Wesleyan (NAIA)

Interest:  Eastern Kentucky

Evan is a very good outside shooter.  He is sneaky quick and does a pretty good job of beating his man off the dribble to get inside.  Evan has a low release on his shot which will make it tough to get as many open shots at the college level.  He is the type of guy who scores a “quiet” 15-20 seemingly every game.

63.  Brandon Tonsoni:  6’5” Shooting Guard, Rossville H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Brandon had a pretty good AAU circuit and showed that he is a good prospect with upside.  He is a very good 3-point shooter and can also get to the basket off the dribble.  With his size he is able to rebound the rebound the ball pretty well and can guard multiple positions.  I think he may still grow another inch or two.  His game reminds me a little bit of Cole Murray from the 2013 class.

64.  Larry Crisler:  6’3” Shooting Guard, Hammond Bishop Noll

Offers:

Interest:

Larry is a guy that I haven’t been able to see much of, but I am going to make a point to evaluate him further this winter.  I know that he has been a contributor at Noll on some very goo teams and is a physical, scoring guard.  From what I have seen I really like his game.

65.  Josh Fleming:  5’11” Point Guard, LaPorte H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

I really like his strength as a point guard, he can get inside well off the dribble and finish through contact.  Josh is a good perimeter shooter and just an all-around scoring guard.  He handles the ball well in transition, looks good running the fast break.

66.  Isaiah Gooch:  6’6” Power Forward, Bloomington H.S. South

Offers:

Interest:  Ball State

Isaiah has great upside.  He is a very good athlete with some good offensive skills.  He rebounds the ball well on both ends of the court and shoots it well out to around 15 feet.  One to keep an eye on over the next year.

67.  Bo Burkhart:  6’0” Shooting Guard, Evansville Bosse H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Middle Tennessee State, Murray State, Evansville, Indiana State, Wright State

Very good perimeter shooter.  He is a very good defender who usually will guard the other teams best offensive threat. Bo is a great competitor and is an aggressive player on the court.  He handles the ball pretty well, but seems more comfortable off the ball.  Undersized.

68.  Jalen Morgan:  6’6” Power Forward, Pike H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Jalen was getting a lot of playing time this summer for Pike and was making the most of it.  I really like his post moves and ability to block and disrupt shots on the defensive end.  He needs to get a lot stronger and more physical, but the tools are there for this kid to be a player.  Playing JV right now, but he is worth getting there early to watch.  Could be a really good big for a NAIA school.  Big time upside.

69.  Tra’Veon Johnson:  6’3” Small Forward, South Bend Washington H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

I really like Trey’s game.  He’s a super athletic, strong wing player who can really hurt you in transition.  He handles the ball well and explodes to the rim any chance he gets.  Trey is a very good rebounder for his size.  If he can become a better outside shooter his game will really take off.  One to keep an eye on.

70.  Justin Parker:  6’4” Shooting Guard, Northwest H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Justin is very athletic and a versatile offensive player that can play the 2 or 3 spots.  He is a good outside shooter and also handles the ball well.  He has really impressed me with his play of late, if he keeps improving he should shoot up the rankings by the end of the season.

71.  D’tavian Walker:  6’4” Small Forward, Thomas Carr Howe H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

I have been very impressed with him recently.  D’tavian is a great athlete and is active on both ends of the court.  He is a very good mid-range shooter and has the athleticism to finish around the rim.  I really like his upside.

72.  Michael Loggan:  6’6” Power Forward, North Central H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

He has good upside if he can pack on some strength and polish his offensive game.  I like the way Michael handles the ball for his size; he can take the ball to the basket from the wing or high post.  He has good length which lets him rebound the ball well on both ends of the court.  Michael has a pretty good shooting stroke too.

73.  Cory Smith:  6’0” Point Guard, North Harrison H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Cory is a scoring guard who can either run the point or play off the ball.  He is a great 3-point shooter who can get hot and really hurt you from beyond the arc.  He does handle the ball well which lets him penetrate a little bit too.  A good under-the-radar prospect.

74.  Kyle Thompson:  6’8” Power Forward, Brownsburg H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

He is a big body down low who doesn’t mind banging around.  Also, he can step outside and hit some shots out to the 3-point line.  Definitely a prospect to keep an eye on.  Skilled big man.

75.  Grant Leach:  6’3” Shooting Guard, Hamilton Southeastern H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  William & Mary, IPFW, Pennsylvania, Yale, Kent State, Hillsdale (DII)

Grant is a very good shooter from the perimeter and is just an all-around good scorer.  Also, he really gets after it defensively.  I love his length, you should see him still grow and inch or two.

76.  Jonathan Wilkerson:  6’4” Shooting Guard, Northwood H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

He is an aggressive offensive player with very good athleticism and jumping ability.  Jonathan does a good job of getting to the basket off the dribble and can elevate and finish at the rim.  He does a great job of getting to the foul line and is a good FT shooter.  He needs to improve his 3-point shooting, but overall I like his offensive game.

77.  Erik Bowen:  6’6” Power Forward, Kokomo H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

I really like his upside.  Erik has really improved a lot recently, and that should continue over the course of the next year.  He has good all-around offensive skills in the post and rebounds the ball well on both ends of the court.  Hard-worker.

78.  Zach Zurcher:  6’5” Small Forward, Northwood H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Zach has good size and is pretty athletic.  He is a very good rebounder for his size.  Along with his teammate Jonathan Wilkerson, he makes up a very good 1-2 punch for Northwood.  Zach shoots the ball pretty well and can also finish around the rim.  One to keep an eye on.

79.  Davone Daniels:  6’0” Shooting Guard, John Marshall H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

A very long, athletic, scoring 2-guard.  He is a dynamic scoring that can hurt you all over the court.  He handles the ball well and likes to use his athleticism and explosive leaping ability to attack the rim.  Davone can also knock down an open 3.  He really knows how to score the ball; perfect for an up-tempo program that plays a lot of guards.

80.  Devin Chaudion:  6’2” Shooting Guard, Fishers H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Devin is at his best when in transition where he can use his athleticism and leaping ability to score.  He has a nice mid-range game, but can be a an inconsistent shooter at times.  He is a pretty aggressive offensive player and does make things happen with his athleticism, but I would like to see him polish up his game a little bit.

81.  Arian Stone:  6’3” Shooting Guard, Broad Ripple H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Very aggressive offensively, can get to the basket well off the dribble.  I like his athletic ability and strength.  Arian is coming to Broad Ripple after transferring from Arlington H.S.  He is a pretty long and does a good job of penetrating, but I would like to see him develop a better game from the perimeter.

He is a very athletic guard who looks to score the basketball.  Jordan is pretty strong for his size and can also jump very well which lets him elevate over defenders for mid-ranger jumpers.  He also rebounds the ball well from the guard spot.  He is very aggressive on the offensive end, but sometimes that leads to bad decisions and turnovers.  Overall, I like his skill set and upside.

85.  Chris Jones:  6’0” Point Guard, Indianapolis Shortridge H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Very good on the defensive end of the floor.  Chris is quick with the ball in his hands and scores well around the rim.  He has a nice pull up jumper too.  Just an all-around scorer who can hurt you in a variety of ways.

86.  Eric Davidson:  6’1” Point Guard, Hamilton Southeastern H.S.

Offers:

Interest:  Morehead State

Scoring point guard who can shoot the ball well from the perimeter.  Needs to get stronger so he can handle ball pressure a bit better, but he does do a pretty good job of handling the ball.  I like his offensive game.  He is a high IQ player that doesn’t force the action and makes good decisions on the court.  He will make a small college better with his scoring and solid all-around play.

87.  Alec Turner:  5’11” Point Guard, Marion H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Offers:

Interest:

I love Tyawn physicality at the guard spot.  He can rebound the basketball and finish through contact when attacking the rim.  He is a great athlete, but his overall basketball skills are a little behind his athleticism at this point.  If he can put it all together and develop a jump shot he could become very difficult to stop.

99.  Trevor Lucas:  6’0” Shooting Guard, Brownsburg H.S.

Offers:

111.  Abdul McGraw:  6’3” Small Forward, Lawrence Central H.S.

Offers:

Interest:

Abdul is a big, strong, physical presence down low.  He rebounds the ball very well and finishes around the rim.  However, at just 6’3” he is undersized to play down low.  Still, he could be a good DIII player because of his work ethic and strength around the basket.

Offers:

Interest:

He can absolutely fill it up offensively.  Adam is a good shooter from the perimeter and also does a pretty good job of getting inside.  He is undersized, but plays with a high basketball IQ and is a very crafty player.
